You give so much in corresponding that we have lost. Friendship, love, family, courage, hope, a shoulder to lean on, a ear to listen, trust, understanding. We don’t feel alone. We know that someone truly care. These things mean so much, as if they are the food for our soul."

When I started to write to my penpal in prison I thought I could bring some joy into his life. What I couldn't imagine then was the fact of how much joy he'd bring into MY life! At the beginning we were both shy and cautious and told each other about our everyday lives. In the meanwhile we have found out a lot of things we have in common and feel close to each other. I never could have imagined that my penpal could become so dear to me. It's an immeasurable enrichment for me to know him.
